Finding Two Newspaper Original Issues Of The Paris Metro : Vol. 1 No1 - June 23rd, 1976 FIRST ISSUE, & Another : The Paris Metro Vol 1, No1 July 3rd, 1079 : Wow, This Is Indeed History : Old Paris, France History In English!

What fun, I knew I had these and I am now finally after all these years writing about this : bringing some light to the magnificent years that my family and I spent in Paris back in the seventies : seems like so long ago, it is, it was, and yet many things are fresh as if yesterday still in my thoughts, ideas, feelings , etc ... gotta love that, I do.

These issues are in really good shape, too, not having seen the light from many days. The colors in them are still vivid and I will enjoy leafing through them soon.

For now I want to transcribe here the headlines on both :

On the FIRST ISSUE : we have :  " New York chic takes over in Les Halles "  , and then at the bottom of the page :  Inside : How students have their strike and vacation too . Interview with Jean Seberg. Why the French love Jerry Lewis. Best films discos, bars. And a centerfold map of where it's at in Les Halles.

On this FIRST ISSUE the print is only in black and red. It says on the upper right side : Every Two Weeks 4F.

On the Issue July 3, 1979 , Vol 1, No 1 : The Paris Metro ( the words : " The " and " Paris " are in red inky, and the word " Metro " is in black ink , and all three words are surrounded in a deep mango orange color that is still as vivid as is the blue in the sky around the Eiffel Tower! ). There's a beautiful blue sky and the  The MAGAZINE ABOUT PARIS TODAY   , and it also says on the upper right :         " We're Back " ( these words are also in red ink " ...     Every Wednesday 5F

The headline is : " Why London Gets Laker And Paris Gets the Shaft "

There's a picture of a young girl student or perhaps tourist looking up at the Eiffel Tower and giving it a thumb's up and a smile. I like that, I like that a lot!

I will write more soon, but will post this now ' as is ' so you may enjoy it. I will also take pictures and include them here soon of both issues.

Wow, those were glorious years that have stayed bright and vivid for the most part for all these years, just as these two publications have. Cheers, happy Monday August 4th, 2014 to one and to all!   TONY
